In our four part NYMF series, you’ll hear from 21 NYMF shows with interviews, music, live performances and more!

In this episode:

  • Original Jersey Boys, Daniel Reichard and Tituss Burgess stop by with THE HAPPY EMBALMER‘s writer, Mark Noonan to discuss this new musical. (As well as discuss what Jersey Boys did for their careers!)
  • ONE NIGHT STAND is a new, improvised musical every night, and they are coming to New York for NYMF. Company members Kobi Libii and Samantha Martin stop by with pianist, Andrew Resnick to discuss how they make up their shows on the spot, and then perform a two-song, improvised musical right in our recording studio!
  • ANJOU: A TALE OF HORROR is coming in from Mexico City. Director Edgardo Lar stops by to talk about the show and everything involved with bringing up a 45 member cast/crew. Also, some member of their young cast (Liesl Lar, Daniel Tejada, Mayte De Samaniego & Gym Carlo Heneidi) take time to perform two songs from the show live in our studio!
  • Faust meets Dead Poet’s Society in the new musical, ACADEMY. Actors Antonio Addeo and Wilson Bridges discuss the show and forging careers as young actors in New York.
  • Even slackers need superheroes of their own, and in WHATEVER MAN, they finally do. Actors Kristin Maloney and Colin Hanlon discuss their roles in this new musical comedy.

In this episode:

Katie Thompson intends to save redheads from extinction in her show, R.R.R.E.D.: A SECRET MUSICAL. She performs two song from the show live in our studio and is joined by Director, Andy Sandberg and Producer, Shea Sullivan.

A rock band is the subject of RAINBOW AROUND THE SUN  and Composer/Actor Matthew Alvin Brown and Music Director, Nathan Siler stop by to discuss the show and play a song live in our studio.

The Korean version of NYMF is represented by MY SCARY GIRL which is coming to NYMF after a successful run in Korea. Composer, Will Aronsen, and Book/Lyric Writer Kyoungae Kang hang in the studio to let you know about this unique romantic comedy/horror musical.

Tony Nominated Bookwriter/Lyricist Barry Harmon (Romance/Romance) stops by with composer Grant Sturiale and actor James DePaiva to talk about their musical, UNDER FIRE, based on the 1984 movie of the same name.

Monica Bauer has transformed her show, The Diet Monologues into the full-length Book musical, LIGHTER. She stops by with America’s original Chris, Willy Falk (Miss Saigon) to talk about how American’s obsession with being thin inspired her show.

A composer’s autistic son inspired the experimental, soundscape musical, MAX UNDERSTOOD. Nancy Carlyn (Book/Co-Lyrics) and Michael Winter (Actor) stop by to tell us about how this musical will take the audience inside an autistic child’s head.
