We’ve got a jam packed episode for you this week! New Cabaret sensation, Tony DeSare stops by to talk about his new CD, his show at the Oak room, and plays two songs live in our studio! We’ve also got two one-man shows playing in rep at the SoHo, Michael Laurence in “Krapp 39″ and Mark Sam Rosenthal in (deep breath) “Blanche Survives Katrina in a FEMA Trailer Named Desire”
We’ve also got some live recordings from our first Live Event (Don’t miss our next one, Feb. 8th!) James Barbour showed up by Surprise to sing, and we’ve got him singing a never recorded song by Frank Wildhorn, as well as selections from APAC’s production of “Ragtime”, Prospect Theatre Company’s new show, “The Dome” and a few selections from some of our fantastic open-mic performers!

Don’t miss our next show, Sunday, Feb. 8th! – MORE INFO
Our first showcase yesterday went just fantastic, with so much talent showing up, and a great audience to take it all in!
The open mic winner was Allan Harris, with Adam Spiegel & Jason Gotay also in the top 3!
Broadway Star, James Barbour (Tale of Two Cities, Urinetown, Beauty and the Beast) showed up to host the second half of the evening and sing two songs for the crowd! In fact, in a “star is born” moment, he asked one of the open mic performers, Jason Watson, to perform with him at one of his upcoming Sardi’s gigs!

Duncan Sheik is releasing his concept CD, “Whisper House” tomorrow. Here is the 1st music video “Earthbound Starlight” it is a really cool animated piece that tells the story of Whisper House.

Rooms: a rock romance, a new musical penned by Bright Lights, Big City’s Paul Scott Goodman, will begin previews at Off-Broadway’s New World Stages/Stage 2 Feb. 27.
Directed by Scott Schwartz, the production will officially open March 16. Leslie Kritzer (A Catered Affair, Legally Blonde) and Doug Kreeger (Signature’s The Visit, world premiere of Rooms) will co-star.
