• Gary Holmes discusses his journey bringing 30′s Harlem Composer J.C. Johnson’s music to life in a book musical, TRAV’LIN. A mentor to Gary as a young boy, J.C. wish was to have an honest book musical, now brought to life at NYMF.
• Book writer, Chip Zien and Director Nick Corley discuss their (tongue firmly in cheek) desire to have the “most pretentious musical” at NYMF this year. A unique a surreal journey of a 12 year old boy with no regards to the boundaries of time, THE HISTORY OF WAR illuminates the human capacity for violence.
• Ned Massey was prepped by labels to be the “Next Bob Dylan” only to find himself scrapped by the label before his debut album was released. Years later, he turns his story into a fresh contemporary musical, BLOOD TIES. He discusses the show with director Scott C. Embler.
• The downturn in the economy led to Keith Varney getting fired from his office job, which quickly led to the writing of I GOT FIRED: A SEMI-AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL SORT-OF-TRUE REVENGE MUSICAL. He discusses the creation of the show and the challenges of writing and acting at the same time.

As I announced on the season finale, I will be moving to Montana in January. But as Broadway Bullet is the most listened to theatre program on the internet, I intend to keep the show going!

How will I do this?

We need correspondents!

Broadway Bullet is looking for bright, enthusiastic, theatre fans and participants looking to interview theatre people, blog, review and more!

Read On For Qualifications:

1. Must Live in New York City. (We are looking for someone in other major theatre markets… Chicago, L.A., Miami, Houston, etc… Please indicate this clearly if you are not in New York)
2. Must have access to a good quality, portable audio recorder. (Unless you want to blog/review ONLY)
3. Must have high speed internet access.

These positions are unpaid (I don’t even make anything!) but there are plenty of perks and there is possibly no better way to jump start your networking in New York! (Or the city you are corresponding from)

How to Apply

1. Please write a few paragraphs about yourself and why you would like to be involved with Broadway Bullet.
2. If looking to interview, please send a 3 minute sample/audition interview in mp3 form. (Find some sort of theatre person and interview them… you DO have friends involved somehow, right?)
3. If looking to Blog/Review, please submit one editorial/opinion piece and one review for perusal.
4. Include all pertinent contact information so I can reach you!

Submissions are ongoing until I announce that we have enough people, but the earlier you respond, the better. I would like to have everyone in place by the middle of August so we can use the fall season as a transition until I move.

I am extremely excited. The irony of my moving, is I will actually have more time to manage and promote Broadway Bullet than while I’ve been in New York, and I believe correspondents can increase the excitement of the program greatly! I look forward to seeing who is involved with the next chapter of Broadway Bullet!

Broadway Bullet is very proud to have released James Barbour’s (Jane Eyre, A Tale of Two Cities, Assassins) new single. The song is called “Walk With Me” and was written by Gary Burton and produced by Michael Gilboe, (Host of Broadway Bullet) who also provided piano, bass and drum programming.  Proceeds will go to benefit Haiti disaster relief.

We did this up in my studio a couple of weeks ago, and I also want to give a shout to all the other people who contributed to the recording.
